2022 Fiscal Year Budget Tenitively Adopted June 22, 2021
The Somerton City Council has tenitively adopted the 2022 Budget.  The budget is available for public review at the office of the City Clerk located at City Hall, 143 N State Avenue, Somerton, AZ 85350, the Yuma County Library Somerton Branch, 240 Canal Street, Somerton, AZ 85350 and here on the City of Somerton website.

The Somerton City Council will hold public hearings in Council Chambers, City Hall, 143 N State Avenue, Somerton, AZ 85350 on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 7:00 p.m., for the purpose of (1) hearing taxpayers in favor or against any proposed expenditure and tax levy and (2) finally determining and adopting the estimates of proposed expenditures for various purposes as set forth in the tennitively adopted 2022 Budget. This final determination shall constitute the budget for fiscal year 2021-2022. At this same time and place the Somerton City Council will meet for the purposes of holding a Truth in Taxation hearing as the proposed levy will cause the City of Somerton primary property tax levy on a $100,000 valued home to increase by $9.61.  This proposed increase is exclusive of increased primary property taxes received from new construction, per A.R.S. 42-17107.
